Resources for DeFi and TELx

Step 1: Downloading and Setting up a Web3 Wallet

TELx operates on the Polygon (MATIC) network, so please keep this in mind as we go through the guide

There are two ways to connect your wallet to Telcoin's TELx website, they are MetaMask and WalletConnect. Here are the links where you can download them and add them as an extension on your browser of choice:
MetaMask
WalletConnect
Here is what the MetaMask extension will look like from a Brave (Chrome) browser:

To set up a wallet (using MetaMask as an example), follow these instructions:

  1. Click "Get Started"
  2. Agree or disagree to allow MetaMask to gather usage data (individual preference)
  3. Click "Create a Wallet"
  4. Create a password (don't make it "password123, put some thought and complexity behind this as this will be storing some of your hard-earned money)
  5. Review and agree to the "Terms of Use", and click "Create"
  6. Watch video about securing your wallet
  7. Uncover your "Secret Recovery Phrase", then write it down on a piece of paper for safe keeping. This is your private key you will use if you ever need to access your wallet on another, so keep it scret, keep it safe!
  8. MetaMask will test you, so make sure you've written down your recovery phrase correctly
Viola!! Your wallet has been created and you have successfully backed up your recovery phrase for any future use!
You'll notice your Ethereum wallet address just under "Account 1".
Wallet Address.png When expanded, it will be a string of numbers and letter that could look like this:
    0xa197b0C503AaC4aFE61fa26F83156E6740d14D1C
(That is the TELx Community donations wallet so feel free to send any test transactions/donations to keep this site running!)
Keep in mind that your wallet address will be the same regardless of which chain you are on (Ethereum or Polygon as examples)
